I spent this evening setting up the jamendo iRATE server. I’m testing it right now. For a time being, it will only be used by the jamendo website, but the iRATE client team should start implementing the new protocol very soon. More on this later, I’ll post the results of my first recommendation tests on jamendo. Sounds exciting !!

We also watched 24 401 tonight, was quite OK : we’ll miss Tony Almeida for sure, and the terrorist family is too cliché, but hey, the end of the EP is really excellent ! I love this in 24. There are only 2 minutes left, there’s plenty of action, explosions & co, the camera splits, you breathe.. and it’s over. You don’t have really the time to see all the images because of the splits, so you end up trying to see as much as you can, you get really nervious, … that’s really what I call a great watching atmosphere !

Today I worked on the jamendo gallery. I fixed some config issues I had seen when building my own gallery yesterday. I still have to figure out how to do a great header that can be standalone as well as embedded into an iframe in artists’ websites. Maybe I’ll wait until our first artists get it done.

I’ve also looked at peercast because it was on /. ; nothing new there. there is still no real radios, the clients seem to suck, but I’ll give it a try when we’ll set up ices. Even if it’s hard to set up, we love to be early adopters :) It would be great to have jamendo CC radio on top of their yellow pages !

Now I’ve to get back to work on iRATE, trying to get svn working on my laptop in order to commit the updated XMLRPC server code to berlios.

Laurent & Pierre are skying right now, so I’ve to work 3 times harder to get this project up :/ There’s so much work to be done… I think to get to RC stage for jamendo, we’d need about 2 year.man ; So if we want to do it in, say 4 months, we’ve got to be 6 in the team. Wait, we are already 6 ?! Hmm got it. 6 guys working FULL TIME !!

Studying mathematics and physics all day long can be quite boring. So from the beginning I think I have to introduce the concept of Yet Another Boring Day (YABD). Basically, this means solving really nasty equations from 8am to 3pm, thinking about everything except this damned bilinear algebra thing !

Ok, I love mathematics. But I’m not so good at it currently, and we don’t study the kind of problems that interest me. I hope engineer school next year will be really interesting !!

So what did I think about today ? Hmmm, my first album. I’ve written down a tentative track list. I also have an idea of the title and of the artwork. It’s very tempting to post them here, but I know I’ve to keep them secret for a while, as I won’t have the time to record it until July (there are some exams before entering engineer school, you know ?). But it’s going to be exciting to record and to compose my own music alone (I only have ~50% of it done). There will be many guests though :) I’ve also been thinking about a long trip-hop/progressive song, mostly instrumental, closing the album. Can’t tell you more :)

I’m a bit disapointed by this new season… I think everything comes way too fast, not to mention Sydney and Vaughn having sex in the first EP ! Come on…

The worst thing being Sloane, the real master of all Alias characters, now in control of yet another secret division of the CIA… So to be back to the 1st season in less than 1h is quite confusing :/ Moreover the 322 cliffhanger was really HUGE,they could have found better than this !

But it’s only the beginning… let’s wait !

Ok, hello world, my first blog post, etc …

Still patching it. For the record I bundled WordPress 1.2.2 and Gallery 1.4.4 together to make it simple and quick to maintain.

More to come when I’ll have something interesting to say :)
